YOUTUBE SHORTCUTS FOR BUSY STUDENTS
CODE WITH CLAUDE:
DAY 15

(This one was personal. Note to teachers, if you can't teach the material yourself don't be surprised when your students find a better workaround.)

YouTube Transcript Shortcut is an educational web app that teaches students how to stop wasting hours watching assigned YouTube videos and instead extract transcripts in 30 seconds for free AI summarization. The app provides a beautiful step-by-step visual guide showing users where to find YouTube's transcript button, how to copy the full text, and how to paste it into free AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude with example prompts for creating summaries, study guides, and outlines.

It includes a bonus section that introduces the concept of APIs and automation for students ready to learn coding, but emphasizes that the manual copy-paste method costs $0 and works perfectly for most educational needs. Built as a teaching tool rather than a service, it empowers students to reclaim their time while exposing inefficient teaching practices—teaching the teacher twice: once by offering a better learning method, and again by demonstrating what good educational tools look like.

Step 5 and 6 are not connected as they are how to build the API. I encourage you to build your own app and show me the results!
